Warning: Emails misusing the names of Dimitar Zwiatkow and CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP

Emails have been sent falsely claiming to be from Dimitar Zwiatkow and CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP in relation to a trademark matter.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that emails have been sent falsely claiming to be from Dimitar Zwiatkow and CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP (see below for details).
The SRA understands the scam is in operation in Bulgaria and the emails have been sent in Bulgarian.
The SRA has been advised that the recipients are informed that they have infringed the trademark of a client of the law firm by using their trademark and logo on social media and websites. The email prompts them to click on a link and requests the recipients to stop using the trademark, otherwise in 48 hours a lawsuit will be lodged. If the recipient wants to negotiate, they are asked to reply by providing contact details and copies of the documents licensing the IP rights.
The emails were sent from the email address 'percyroberts1932@gmail.com'.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor called 'Dimitar Zwiatkow'.
Any business or transaction through the email address 'percyroberts1932@gmail.com' is not undertaken by an individual or firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP.
The genuine firm has confirmed that it employs an individual called Dimitar Zwiatkow at its Sofia, Bulgaria office. The individual’s email address is dimitar.zwiatkow@cmslegal.bg and telephone number is +359 2 447 1315 and +359 887 033 676.
The genuine firm CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP has confirmed that neither it nor its Dimitar Zwiatkow have any connection to the emails referred to above.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
