This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which will reach its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Solicitor. The Tribunal has certified that there is a case to answer in respect of allegations which are or include that:-

• On or around 24 October 2022, he provided inaccurate and misleading information on an application for Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) when he signed a proposal form to say that he was the sole signatory on the firm's client account, when this was not true;
• Between 31 October 2022 and 29 January 2023, failed to notify the SRA that the Firm had entered i) the Extended Policy Period (the EPP) and or ii) the Cessation Period (CP).
• Between 30 January 2023 and 1 June 2023 inclusive, carried on practice at the firm, including accepting at least one new matter, when the firm did not have a policy of qualifying PII instead of effecting an orderly closure.
• Between 31 October 2022 and 1 June 2023, failed to maintain or produce proper books of account, including appropriately recording dealings with client money and completing client account reconciliations.

The allegations are subject to a Hearing before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and are as yet unproven.
