Warning: Correspondence misusing the name of Cheshire Estate and Legal Limited (trading as CEL Solicitors)

Correspondence has been sent from an individual purporting to be 'Kira Morgan' from the law firm Cheshire Estate and Legal Limited (trading as CEL Solicitors). The correspondence misuses the name of a genuine law firm (see details below).
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that correspondence has been sent by email from 'Kira Morgan' falsely claiming to be from Cheshire Estate and Legal Limited (trading as CEL Solicitors) using the email address of 'kira_morgan@mail.com'. The correspondence relates to supposed recovery of funds.
The email also includes the website and head office address of the genuine firm (see below) in its signature. In the email communication 'Kira Morgan' also directs the member of the public to refer to the genuine firm's website for additional verification.
Any business or transactions through the correspondence described above is not undertaken by a firm of individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Cheshire Estate and Legal Limited (trading as CEL Solicitors) whose address is 20 Chapel Street Liverpool L3 9AG. Their telephone number is 01519098212 and the firm uses the genuine email domain of @celsolicitors.co.uk. The firm's website address is www.celsolicitors.co.uk.
Cheshire Estate and Legal Limited (trading as CEL solicitors) has confirmed that it does not have any connection with the correspondence referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
